Our vision
Language Institute Business Talen Rotterdam BV: business-oriented language training since 1988
Business Talen Rotterdam BV was founded in 1988 by Herman Groenewegen. After completing his grammar school education and studying French language and literature in Leiden, he specialized in providing business-oriented language courses. He now heads the language institute, providing Dutch language lessons himself, as well as selecting and supervising teachers. The language courses are therefore based on his vision.

What requirements should a language teacher meet?

During the initial interview, it's important that the instructor immediately creates a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. If the interview process feels good, the client will likely feel comfortable during the course as well. Teaching is, first and foremost, a human endeavor. Experience comes with time, but an unpleasant personality isn't easily changed.
Native speakers

The teachers at Business Talen Rotterdam BV are almost always native speakers. Classes are taught entirely in the target language, ensuring complete immersion. Native teachers also bring a deep understanding of the country and its culture. This valuable information can later benefit the student when interacting with international business contacts.
Every language can be learned

Different grammar, new sounds, surprising sentence structures, and even a different melody: learning a foreign language comes with its own challenges. A good teacher makes the complexities of a language understandable. That's how we structure our business-focused language courses in a way that everyone can understand.
Non-language related aspects

Taking a language course requires perseverance, planning, discipline, and the willingness to make mistakes. Every student has unique qualities. A teacher must have sufficient empathy and immerse themselves in their students. This makes it possible to offer personalized and truly tailored language courses.
Regularity and courage

Learning a foreign language is like ice skating: you can't learn by sitting on the sidelines. Practice involves trial and error. A successful language course depends on a willingness to try, make mistakes, practice, and learn. Regularity is also essential. Studying for half an hour every day is more effective than studying for three hours once a week.
Laying the foundation

Want to build a solid foundation in a foreign language? Starting from scratch, you'll need an average of 75 lessons of 1.5 hours each. However, we recommend starting with 25 lessons. This way, you'll experience how you like the new language and discover whether you're motivated to delve deeper into your chosen language.
