People from around the world who settle in The Netherlands jump at the chance to learn and master the Dutch language. It is no secret that Dutch is very different from other languages, making it a difficult language to learn: the sentence structure always seems to contradict what you would expect it to be, the enormous list of irregular verbs, the word ‘er’ that has at least eight different uses, the large amount of verbs with prepositions, the pronunciation, the almost endless amount of vocabulary, and the fact that Dutch people tend to express themselves using visual language, which changes the meaning of a word or sentence completely.
However, learning Dutch is far from impossible! With a teacher who indicates where the difficulties in the Dutch language lie, you get insight into sentence construction and you are shown where the obstacles are. Furthermore, you will receive lesson materials that are appropriate to your language level and are used to reinforce and heighten your language knowledge with each lesson. Of course, you will have to work hard towards your language goals. With a little determination, enough time dedicated to home study, and by wilfully integrating yourself into your Dutch language environment, your Dutch language skills will improve greatly.
You can learn Dutch effectively and efficiently at Business Talen Rotterdam BV. In cooperation with your teacher, you can construct a customized program: whether you need to work on your verbal or written Dutch, give a presentation in Dutch, prepare a speech, improve your Dutch e-mails or reports, fine-tune your pronunciation, or just work on your day-to-day language needs.
Your teacher will test your current knowledge of Dutch and discuss your requirements in a free 1.5 hours long introductory lesson. You can also take a look at a selection of lesson materials and discuss how the Dutch course should be set up.
The teacher will formulate a detailed evaluation report after the introductory lesson that will be sent to you, along with a quotation for the Dutch course. The details regarding what was discussed at the free introductory lesson can be found in the report. If you find our recommendations to be acceptable, all you have to do is give us a call to let us know when you would like to start.
Should you wish to concentrate on other aspects of the Dutch language or would like to make changes to the way the Dutch course is planned, your teacher will always be open to meeting your needs. Your goals, after all, are always our priority!
The minimum number of lessons is 15 per course, each lesson being 1.5 hours long. When taking 25 lessons, you receive 2 extra lessons free of charge.
